  • Sit with your spine aroused, or lie down on your back. Start by inhaling long, slow and deep breaths through the nostrils, in and out.
  • Inhale, fill the stomach with air, pushing air deep into the lower lungs.
  • Then exhale, allow your stomach to deflate like a balloon. Perform this exercise several times.
  • Now breath as above, but also expand the mid-chest region. Repeat this step several times.


Do this for about 7 times.


2. The Alternate Breathing Technique

This breathing technique calms themind and body, reduces anxiety and stress, promotes clear thinking, andbalances the left and right hemispheres of the brain.

  • Breathin through right nostrils and breath out through the left
  • Inhalethrough the left and exhale through the right


Repeat thesesteps for around 10 minutes. Try and do these breathing exercises at least oncea day and drink plenty of water too.
